Man gunned down on Benning Road as $25K reward offered in DC homicide
WASHINGTON, DC — A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in Northeast Washington, prompting a homicide investigation and a reward for information leading to an arrest.
Officers responded around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, to the 2000 block of Benning Road Northeast, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital, where he later died despite lifesaving efforts.
Police identified the victim as Jamal Blakes, 26, who had no fixed address.
The Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
