WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was injured in a shooting early Sunday in Southwest D.C., prompting an ongoing investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Easter morning, April 20, officers from the First District responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of 1st Street and P Street, Southwest. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was reported to be conscious and breathing. DC Fire and EMS personnel transported him to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities have not released any suspect information or a possible motive behind the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
The area was secured by police as officers canvassed for evidence and potential witnesses. The investigation remains active.
