LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. — A 24-year-old man was slashed and robbed during a violent altercation at a Queens subway station Saturday night, according to police.
Authorities said the incident happened around 7:50 p.m. at the 21st Street–Queensbridge station, where the victim had just stepped off a southbound F train. An unidentified man allegedly pushed the victim onto the platform and started a verbal dispute.
During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a box cutter and slashed the victim in the right arm, causing the victim to drop his cellphone, police said.
The suspect then grabbed the phone and fled the scene in an unknown direction, officials reported. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital by EMS. He was listed in stable condition.

Investigators have not yet released a description of the suspect. The motive behind the dispute is still unclear, and it is unknown whether the attacker and victim knew each other prior to the incident.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the station and nearby areas in an effort to identify the individual.
The 21st Street–Queensbridge station, located in Long Island City, is a major stop on the F line and sees consistent evening traffic.
