MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 26-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 4-year-old boy in Harlem, police said Monday.
Nytavia Ragsdale, 26, was taken into custody on October 14, 2024, and charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the NYPD. The victim, identified as Jahmeik Modlin, was found unconscious and unresponsive at 2484 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard on Sunday evening.
Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 7:42 p.m. on October 13. Officers discovered the boy inside the residence, and he was transported to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
