Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office honored as ‘Champion for Children’ at PEI Kids gala

TRENTON, NJ – The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has been named a 2025 “Champion for Children” by PEI Kids, recognizing its dedication to protecting young victims and promoting justice throughout the county.

The honor was presented during PEI Kids’ 40th Anniversary Gala, held October 17 at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake.

Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey accepted the award on behalf of the office, joined by members of the Special Victims Unit and executive staff.

Commitment to protecting children

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office was commended for its ongoing work supporting victims of child abuse and advancing child safety initiatives. The recognition highlights the office’s leadership in crisis response, prevention, and justice for young survivors.

PEI Kids, a Mercer County-based nonprofit, has worked for four decades to strengthen child safety and healing through education, intervention, and advocacy programs. The organization serves as a vital partner to law enforcement in addressing child sexual abuse and promoting community awareness.

Honorees celebrated for dedication to youth

In addition to the Prosecutor’s Office, NJM Insurance Group and Thomas and Francesca Bartlett of The Bartlett Family Foundation were also recognized for their contributions to children’s welfare and safety.

The event, themed Denim & Diamonds: Celebrating 40 Years of Safety, Healing and Hope, brought together community leaders, advocates, and partners committed to protecting children across New Jersey.

Following the event, Prosecutor Marbrey extended appreciation to PEI Kids for the honor and reaffirmed the office’s commitment to safeguarding Mercer County’s youngest residents.
