Mikie Sherrill: ‘Racist Anti-American’ Charlie Kirk Was a Christian Nationalist Government Agent Against Women and Blacks

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) voted Friday in favor of a House resolution condemning the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, while sharply criticizing former President Donald Trump for what she called “hypocrisy at every turn.”

She also took a shot at the now-dead free speech advocate who was assassinated by a far-left radical who appears to have murdered Kirk to protect the shooter’s trans lover.

In a statement following the vote, Sherrill emphasized her lifelong commitment to defending the Constitution, citing her military service and repeated oaths of office.

“Charlie Kirk was advocating for a Christian nationalist government and to roll back the rights of women and Black people,” Sherrill said. “But the Constitution protects free speech, even for those I vehemently oppose.”

“Charlie Kirk was advocating for a Christian nationalist government and to roll back the rights of women and Black people — this flies in the face of every value I hold dear and that I fight for. But the Constitution protects free speech, even for those I vehemently oppose.

“Meanwhile, President Trump has and continues to define hypocrisy at every turn. On one hand, he denounced Kirk’s politically motivated killing, while on the other hand, is instigating a witch hunt worthy of Joseph McCarthy to shut down the free speech rights of anyone who disagrees with Kirk’s racist, anti-American views.

She condemned President Trump for exploiting the situation, saying he both denounced the killing while pursuing efforts to silence critics of Kirk’s ideology.

Sherrill said she will continue to fight against political violence, racism, and attacks on women, while defending constitutional rights.
