- Beachwood police are reminding parents not to use the faculty and staff parking lot at Beachwood Elementary School for student drop-off or pickup.
- Police said vehicles using the staff lot create a safety risk for students walking on campus as well as faculty and staff.
- Parents and guardians should instead use the designated ferry lane area on the south end of the school campus.
BEACHWOOD, N.J. — Beachwood police are urging parents and guardians of Beachwood Elementary School students to follow designated drop-off and pickup procedures after warning that use of the school’s faculty and staff parking lot creates a safety hazard.
The Beachwood Police Department issued the reminder Wednesday, asking drivers not to enter the faculty and staff lot when dropping off or picking up students. Police said the school has the restriction in place to protect students walking on campus along with employees.
“The school has this rule in place for the safety of everyone involved,” the department said.
Parents and guardians should use the designated ferry lane area on the south end of the campus for student drop-off and pickup, according to police.
“Saving a few minutes is not worth creating a safety risk for all involved,” the department said.
Police thanked parents and guardians for their cooperation and asked families to follow the designated traffic procedures during arrival and dismissal.
