Million Dollar Lottery Ticket Sold in Sykesville is About to Retire If Nobody Claims It

CLINTON, MD – Someone in Prince George’s County could soon lose a fortune if they don’t check their old lottery tickets. A $1 million Powerball prize sold in Clinton last fall is set to expire on March 15, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Chesapeake Liquors, located at 8853 Branch Avenue, for the September 13, 2025 drawing. The lucky numbers matched all five white balls but missed the red Powerball—earning the buyer a $1 million second-tier prize that remains unclaimed nearly five months later.

If the winner doesn’t step forward by March 15, the unclaimed funds will revert to the state, as Maryland Lottery prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing. Officials are urging anyone who bought a ticket at Chesapeake Liquors in mid-September to double-check their numbers immediately.

Other big prizes still waiting for winners

The unclaimed Clinton ticket is one of several large Maryland Lottery prizes still sitting unclaimed across the state. Among them:
