A 53-year-old MTA employee was attacked while on duty at a Brooklyn subway station Sunday night, according to police. The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. at the Myrtle Avenue and Wyckoff Avenue station.
Authorities said the woman was stationed on the lower mezzanine level of the station when an unidentified individual approached and struck her twice on the head with an umbrella. The assailant fled the scene on foot before officers arrived and remains at large.
EMS transported the victim to Wyckoff Hospital, where she was treated and listed in stable condition. Police said the employee was conscious and alert when emergency responders arrived.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear. The NYPD has not released a detailed description of the suspect and continues to search for surveillance footage from the station to aid in the investigation.

“The unidentified individual fled the location on foot to parts unknown,” police stated in a report of the incident.
