Multi-agency sweep nets 27 arrests, recovers stolen vehicles across Westchester region

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A coordinated enforcement operation targeting violent offenders and stolen vehicles led to more than 27 arrests and the recovery of multiple stolen cars across the Westchester region earlier this month, according to the New Rochelle Police Department.

The large-scale “Drivers of Violence Enforcement” (DOVE) operation brought together more than 25 local, state, and federal agencies, with real-time coordination handled by the Westchester–Putnam Real Time Crime Center.

Regional crackdown spans three states

Authorities reported at least 231 motor vehicle stops and more than 70 summonses issued during the operation, which stretched across Westchester and Putnam counties in New York and into Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Participating agencies included the New York City Police Department, New York State Police, the FBI, and numerous local departments, reflecting a broad, cross-jurisdictional approach to crime enforcement.

The operation also recorded between six and seven pursuits or incidents involving drivers who failed to comply with police.

Arrests tied to drugs, warrants, and violent crime probes

Among the key outcomes were narcotics-related arrests involving crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as arrests for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic violations.

Investigators also detained two suspects wanted in connection with a New York City Police Department shooting investigation, highlighting the operation’s role in supporting ongoing violent crime cases beyond local boundaries.

Officials said the enforcement effort also led to multiple warrant arrests and contributed to intelligence gathering tied to gang activity and broader criminal networks operating across the region.

Key Points
• Multi-agency operation produced 27+ arrests and 231+ traffic stops
• Multiple stolen vehicles recovered across New York and Connecticut
• Two suspects in NYPD shooting investigation detained during sweep

Real-time coordination drives results

The Westchester–Putnam Real Time Crime Center served as the central hub for communications and intelligence sharing, enabling officers from different jurisdictions to coordinate stops, track suspects, and respond quickly to developments in the field.

Law enforcement agencies increasingly rely on such real-time centers to bridge jurisdictional gaps, particularly when suspects or stolen vehicles move between counties or states.

The DOVE initiative specifically focuses on identifying drivers linked to violent crime, as well as intercepting illegal firearms, narcotics, and repeat offenders through traffic enforcement.

Broader impact and ongoing efforts

Officials said the operation not only led to arrests and recoveries but also generated actionable intelligence that could support future investigations into organized crime and gang-related activity.

The scale of participation—from small village departments to federal agencies—underscores a continued push toward regional collaboration in addressing crime patterns that do not follow municipal boundaries.

While authorities did not release the exact date of the operation or identify those arrested, the results reflect a continued emphasis on proactive enforcement strategies aimed at reducing violence and improving public safety.

The investigation and follow-up efforts tied to the operation remain ongoing, with agencies expected to act on intelligence gathered during the sweep.
