Bronx man sentenced to 25 years for long-term sexual abuse of child in Nassau County

Mineola, NY — A Bronx man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend’s daughter over the course of more than a decade, starting when the child was just nine years old, Nassau County prosecutors announced.

Juan Caceres, 58, was convicted on November 21, 2025, of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, a B felony, following a jury trial before Judge Robert McDonald. On Monday, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 20 years of post-release supervision.

Prosecutors said Caceres began abusing the victim in 2011, shortly after moving into a Port Washington home with her mother. The abuse, which initially involved inappropriate touching, escalated over time. Officials said the assaults occurred multiple times a week and continued through the victim’s teenage years and into adulthood.

In 2013, the victim was temporarily confined to a wheelchair following a medical procedure. During that period, Caceres continued to abuse her, taking advantage of her limited mobility.

The victim ultimately came forward, and Caceres surrendered to authorities in December 2024. The case was investigated by the Nassau County Police Department’s Special Victims Squad and prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Special Victims Bureau.

Caceres was represented at trial by defense attorney Christopher Graziano.
