NJ Powerball Player Claims $221 Million Jackpot, $1.13 Billion Prize Still Unclaimed

TRENTON – A New Jersey lottery player has stepped forward to claim a $221 million Powerball jackpot from the June 10 drawing, marking the second largest lottery win in New Jersey this year, announced New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey. The winning ticket, a Quick Pick, was purchased at Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold, Camden County.

The winner, who realized their fortune after hearing discrepancies in a radio report about the jackpot, has opted for a cash payout of $104.7 million. In a remarkable turn of events, the winner shared the news first with a close friend in disbelief. Meanwhile, the owners of Preet Food Mart, Tejinder Singh and Rajvinder Kaur Ghotra, celebrated their good fortune as well; they received a $30,000 bonus check from the lottery and plan to travel to Europe.

Despite this exciting news, the massive $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot from March 26 remains unclaimed. The New Jersey Lottery advises the winner of this unprecedented prize to secure the ticket and seek professional advice before coming forward. Under New Jersey law, lottery winners can choose to remain anonymous indefinitely, protecting their privacy while still fulfilling all legal obligations associated with claiming such large prizes.
