NYPD Seeks Pair For Robbing Sleeping Rider on F Train at Sutphin Boulevard

Police say two suspects stole a sleeping man’s wallet and cellphone before one punched him as he woke up aboard an F train in Queens.

Queens, NY – The New York City Police Department is searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery aboard a subway train at the Sutphin Boulevard subway station in Queens.

According to the NYPD Crime Stoppers, the robbery occurred at approximately 2:55 p.m. Saturday on a northbound F train within the confines of the 107th Precinct and Transit District 20.

Victim awakened during robbery

Police said a 26-year-old man was sleeping on the train when two unidentified individuals allegedly removed his cellphone and wallet from his pants.

When the victim woke up, one of the suspects punched him in the chest before both fled the station on foot in an unknown direction, according to investigators.

Detectives release images, seek public’s help

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects and is asking anyone who recognizes them or has information about the robbery to contact investigators.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782),” the department said in its public alert.
