A late-night argument over a parking spot spiraled into a coordinated killing that has now led to a first-degree murder conviction and a potential life sentence.
Suffolk County, NY – A Bay Shore woman has been convicted of orchestrating the kidnapping and قتل of a man who parked outside her home, closing a case that prosecutors say began with a minor dispute and ended in a calculated act of violence involving multiple accomplices.
Kayla Alvarenga, 23, was found guilty Thursday of Murder in the First Degree and other charges in connection with the 2022 killing of 29-year-old Linver Ortiz Ponce, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office . Prosecutors said the incident began when the victim parked his red Chevrolet Camaro in front of Alvarenga’s Fifth Avenue home shortly before midnight.

“Parking in front of someone’s home on a public street should never be a death sentence. What makes this case even more disturbing is the defendant’s manipulation and use of minors to carry out her violence,” said District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. “We thank the jury for the careful attention in this case as now the defendant has been held accountable for this senseless murder.”
Confrontation turns into coordinated attack
According to trial evidence, Alvarenga confronted Ortiz Ponce and demanded he move his vehicle before calling others to forcibly remove him. Prosecutors said co-defendant Christopher Perdomo and several teenagers arrived in a stolen BMW, dragged the victim from his car while he slept, and assaulted him.
The victim fled to a nearby gas station, but prosecutors said Alvarenga then directed the group to find and abduct him. Surveillance video captured the victim being forced at gunpoint into the BMW before being transported to a church parking lot.
