Philadelphia police seek public help identifying suspects in mass shooting incident

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a mass shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the city’s 22nd District.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 3:25 a.m. on October 19 at 1100 Cumberland Street. Police said seven victims were found at the scene, with one listed in critical condition. The suspects reportedly fled the area in a charcoal gray Nissan Altima, which was captured on park cameras near 11th & Cumberland Streets.

Investigators described the first suspect, the driver, as a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. The second suspect, the passenger, was seen in a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, also wearing a mask.

The vehicle is described as a late-model Nissan Altima with tinted rear and side windows and 5-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. Notably, the car did not have a license plate.

Police released video footage of the suspects and urged anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking for public assistance to identify and locate the individuals involved.

Don’t be the next victim of violent gun crime in Philadelphia, Here’s how to get a gun permit

To obtain a gun permit for self-defense in Philadelphia, residents must apply for a License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) through the Philadelphia Police Department’s Gun Permits Unit. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and complete a detailed application form, which includes personal information, reasons for carrying, and references. The process requires a non-refundable application fee, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license or state ID, and proof of residency. Applicants must pass a background check and may be subject to an interview. Approval typically takes up to 45 days, after which successful applicants will receive their LTCF card, allowing them to carry a concealed firearm. It is important to follow all state and local regulations, as carrying without a valid permit can result in legal penalties.
