November 16, 2024

Stamford, CT – On Thursday, patrol officers from Squad “B” responded to an incident at a McDonald’s located at 1103 East Main Street. The officers were dispatched due to a collision involving a BMW sedan and a scooter, with reports indicating that the BMW fled west on East Main Street.

Authorities used surveillance cameras to trace the vehicle’s path and searched the area around Clark Hill Road. The officers found the silver BMW with damage consistent with the accident in the parking lot of 821 East Main Street. The suspect, identified as Jarrell Grant, born on August 20, 2003, was discovered in the driver’s seat.

An inventory check of the vehicle led to the discovery of a Springfield XDs 9MM semi-automatic handgun. It was found on the driver’s side floor with seven rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. Grant was arrested for motor vehicle charges and illegal firearm possession.

The Stamford Police Department praised Squad “B” for their quick action and collaboration. The department reasserted their commitment to community safety.
