Police investigating serious crash near Smyrna rest area

SMYRNA, DE –

The Delaware State Police has issued a warrant for overnight commuters that North depart Road will be closed for an extended. Of time due to a serious motor vehicle crash.

“Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on North Dupont Boulevard near the Smyrna Rest Area,” the DSP said in a statement Sunday night. “As a result, North Dupont Boulevard will be closed for an extended period. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes of travel to avoid delays.”

Police are investigating the collision but have not released any details on injuries.
