PITTSBURGH, PA – County Police are actively searching for a Pittsburgh man, Joshua Meyer, in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in Carnegie.
Around midnight on December 23, County 9-1-1 received a report of a stabbing in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue. First responders arrived at the scene and discovered an adult female victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. The victim was swiftly transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition. In response to the severity of the incident, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called in, and their detectives promptly initiated an investigation.
Following interviews with witnesses, investigators determined that 41-year-old Joshua Meyer was the individual responsible for the stabbing. After the alleged attack, Meyer fled the scene. County Police have since filed charges against him, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Meyer, described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds, is known to frequent both Carnegie and the Elliott neighborhood in the city of Pittsburgh. Law enforcement officials are advising the public not to approach him if spotted but rather to immediately call 9-1-1.
