Westmoreland County ticket turns into $150K Powerball win after boost
Unity Township, PA — A Powerball ticket sold at a Westmoreland County gas station turned into a $150,000 win after the Power Play option tripled the prize in the latest drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Speedway on Village Drive in Unity Township for the April 20 drawing, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.
The ticket matched four of the five white balls—9, 17, 36, 47, and 64—and the Powerball number 26. With the Power Play multiplier of three, the prize increased from $50,000 to $150,000.
Lottery officials said the retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The identity of the winner has not been released, as prizes must be claimed and validated. Players have up to one year from the drawing date to claim winnings.
More than 14,900 other Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania also won prizes in the same drawing.
The Powerball jackpot has since rolled to an estimated $100 million annuity, or $45.6 million cash, for the next drawing.
