A reported burglary escalated into a police-involved crash and manhunt Friday night.

PRINCETON, N.J. – A home invasion on Conston Court led to a police pursuit and crash involving a patrol vehicle Friday night, after suspects fled the scene and later collided head-on with an officer responding to the incident. The sequence began around 7:54 p.m. when a resident called 911 reporting unknown individuals inside her home.

Responding officers encountered multiple suspects exiting the residence, who immediately fled and entered a vehicle. The suspects attempted to escape the area but were involved in a head-on collision with a Princeton Police patrol car on Great Road shortly afterward.

Following the crash, the suspects exited their vehicle and fled on foot, prompting an extensive search involving multiple agencies.

“A short time later, the suspect vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a Princeton Police patrol vehicle that was responding to the area on Great Road,” Princeton Police said. “Following the collision, the suspects exited their vehicle and fled the area on foot.”

Multi-agency search fails to locate suspects

Police conducted a wide-area search using a K-9 unit from Hamilton Township Police and a drone from West Windsor Police, but the suspects were not located. Authorities confirmed that no residents inside the home were injured during the incident.

The officer operating the patrol vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation remains active

The incident remains under active investigation. Police are asking residents in the area to review surveillance footage and report any suspicious activity.
