Queens jackpot buzz as two $50K Powerball tickets sold in Flushing and Jamaica

Two $50K Powerball wins in one borough spark fresh jackpot fever in Queens.

FLUSHING, N.Y. — A pair of lucky Powerball players in Queens struck third-prize gold this week, each snagging $50,000 in Monday night’s drawing.

Key Points

  • Two $50,000 Powerball third-prize tickets sold in Queens
  • Winning tickets purchased in Flushing and Jamaica
  • Monday’s drawing produced multiple high-tier winners statewide

The winning tickets were sold at two separate locations, according to the New York Lottery. One was purchased at Stop & Go Convenience, located at 42-39 Main Street in Flushing. The second was sold at Mobil Mart at 165-01 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.

The tickets matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball drawn on Monday night. The winning numbers were pulled from a field of 69 for the white balls and 26 for the red Powerball.

High-stakes wins hit local convenience stores

Powerball drawings are held three times weekly — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. — and are broadcast live. The odds of winning any prize in the Powerball game are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the third prize are approximately 1 in 913,129.

New York Lottery officials confirmed the prizes on Tuesday, noting both stores will also receive a bonus for selling the winning tickets.

Lottery continues funding for public education

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.8 billion during the 2023-2024 fiscal year to public education across the state.
