TRENTON, NJ – A new law in Trenton seeks to force restaurants, bars, schools, nightclubs, truckstops, and hotels to post state-approved human trafficking awareness ads.
Under bill A1081, the state’s Commission of Human Trafficking will create a public awareness sign requiring businesses and schools to post it within their facilities.
The Commission on Human Trafficking will develop a public awareness sign containing information on identifying and reporting suspected human trafficking and provide a national24-hour toll-free hotline telephone service on human trafficking.
Universities, colleges, hospitals, adult-oriented businesses, massage parlors, and body therapists must also post human trafficking awareness signage.
