Driver pulls gun in DC road rage scare before quick police takedown
Washington, DC — A morning traffic dispute escalated into an armed confrontation in Northwest Washington, leading to a swift arrest after a driver allegedly pointed a gun at another motorist.
The incident occurred around 10:06 a.m. April 20 in the 1700 block of 7th Street Northwest, where Third District officers responded to reports of an armed assault in progress.
Police said the victim was driving behind the suspect when a dispute broke out. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim.
Officers quickly located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 57-year-old David Anthony Jennings of Brandywine, Maryland, is facing multiple charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, and carrying a pistol without a license.
The investigation remains ongoing.
