Temple Hills shooting tied to road rage ends in murder charges

Temple Hills, MD — A confrontation on a busy roadway ended in gunfire and death, leading to the arrest of a man now charged with murder in Prince George’s County.

Police say 33-year-old Polo Shaw of Upper Marlboro has been charged in the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Darian Ragland of Brandywine.

The shooting happened April 10 around 4:35 p.m. in the 4700 block of Branch Avenue, where officers found Ragland inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident between the two men, who did not know each other.

Detectives identified Shaw through investigative efforts and obtained an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody with assistance from the department’s Emergency Services Team.

Shaw faces charges including first- and second-degree murder and is being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit.
