Shot man rides bus after midnight gunfire as Baltimore shooting unravels

Baltimore, MD — A late-night shooting in Baltimore took an unusual turn when a wounded man boarded a bus and was later discovered miles away, prompting a police investigation into the chain of events.

Officers initially responded around 11:52 p.m. April 19 to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of East Eager Street, where they located a crime scene but no victim.

Less than an hour later, around 12:48 a.m., a 28-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 6800 block of Belair Road. Medics transported him to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators determined the man had been shot at the earlier location on East Eager Street before boarding a bus. A bus driver later alerted police after the injured man was discovered onboard.

Central District detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
