Search Warrant Turns Deadly As Suspect Fires at Cops

PITTSBURGH, PA – An operation by the PA Office of Attorney General’s Gun Violence Task Force turned deadly early in the morning, just after 6:00 AM, when agents were met with gunfire while executing a search warrant. The incident occurred inside an apartment building located on the 1800 block of Parkline Drive.

As agents attempted to enter the target apartment, they encountered a 54-year-old male armed with a firearm. The man fired multiple shots, causing agents to momentarily retreat. Shortly after, the individual re-emerged, wielding two firearms, and resumed firing at the officers. In response, multiple agents returned fire, resulting in the man being fatally wounded and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the shooting, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called to the scene. Detectives have launched an investigation to further understand the circumstances surrounding the exchange of gunfire and the deployment of the search warrant.
