Showboat Resort and waterpark boasting world’s largest arcade in 2023 debut

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The iconic Atlantic City boardwalk is set to usher in a new era this summer with the grand opening of The Showboat Resort. Developed by Tower Investments CEO and Showboat owner Bart Blatstein, this expansion and re-imagining of the existing Showboat is touted to be the world’s premier beachfront indoor entertainment experience, casting Atlantic City as an all-encompassing family destination and restoring its reputation as America’s Favorite Playground.

The centerpiece of The Showboat Resort is ISLAND Waterpark, which is the largest beachfront waterpark in the world. With over a dozen slides, a 1,000 square-foot surf simulator, and a 6,500 square-foot lazy river, the waterpark covers an area of 120,000 square feet, each designed according to the park’s exotic island theme to make visitors feel like they’ve been swept away to a tropical paradise.

The Showboat Resort aims to cater to both adults and children, with ISLAND Waterpark featuring five bars, including a 40-foot-tall “Indoor Tree House” that can be booked for private parties, a swim-up bar, and Paradise, a 10,000 square-foot space overlooking the waterpark and ocean. During the day, parents and adults can relax and socialize while the kids enjoy the waterpark, while the adults-only area includes Peloton bikes, manicure stations, VIP cabanas, and more. At night, the waterpark transforms into a nightlife venue, the first of its kind at any waterpark.

ISLAND Waterpark boasts two attractions not available at any other indoor waterpark in the US: a more than 1,000-foot Coconut Coaster that takes guests on a ride suspended high above the waterpark and offers spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and boardwalk, and Riptide, a 300-foot zip line. The waterpark’s unique retractable glass-paneled roof allows for ample sunshine and fresh ocean breezes during the warmer months but can be closed during inclement and colder weather for year-round enjoyment of the waterpark.

The waterpark builds on The Showboat’s existing entertainment platform, which includes the Lucky Snake Arcade, the largest arcade in the world. As part of the launch of The Showboat Resort, the arcade expansion will include additional attractions rolling out over the summer, including disco-themed rollerblading, state-of-the-art classic games-themed mini-golf, a 40-foot-tall climbing wall, and the largest Zoltar fortune teller in the world.

Brandon Dixon, Showboat President, expressed his excitement for the grand opening of The Showboat Resort and the world’s largest beachfront waterpark. He noted that they are thrilled to welcome their first guests to ISLAND Waterpark to experience the incredible family fun during the day and the nightlife entertainment for adults in the evenings. Dixon emphasized that the grand opening would build on the success of the Lucky Snake Arcade and Raceway, and they take great pride in delivering the most dynamic and exhilarating non-gaming attraction ever to open on the Atlantic City boardwalk.

Guests of the Showboat hotel are invited to enjoy Rise ‘n’ Shine, an hour of exclusive morning access to ISLAND Waterpark before it opens to the public. With its unique blend of entertainment and attractions, The Showboat Resort aims to position Atlantic City as a family-friendly vacation destination and usher in a new era for the iconic boardwalk.
