Human remains found near Virginia Beach outlets as police ask public for help identifying victim
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Investigators in Virginia Beach are asking for the public’s help after skeletal remains were discovered near a shopping area, launching an active effort to identify the deceased person and notify family members.
The remains were found near the 1600 block of Premium Outlets Boulevard, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Authorities said foul play is not currently suspected, but detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Police released photographs connected to the case and are urging the public to review them in hopes someone may recognize the individual or provide information that could help establish the person’s identity.
Detectives said identifying the remains is a priority so next of kin can be notified.
The case remains under investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department Detective Bureau.
