NEW CITY, N.Y. — A Spring Valley man faces felony child pornography charges after investigators executed a search warrant tied to an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation launched from a national cyber tip, prosecutors said.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced the arrest of 33-year-old Dimitri Ferguson following an investigation conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Ferguson was arraigned May 6 in Spring Valley Justice Court on a felony complaint charging him with possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to the district attorney’s office.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children forwarded a CyberTipline report to Rockland County investigators.
Search Warrant Targeted Electronic Devices
Authorities said the cyber tip ultimately led investigators to execute a search warrant March 17, 2025, at Ferguson’s residence, where law enforcement seized electronic devices as part of the investigation.
The case involved multiple agencies, including the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, the ICAC Task Force, New York State Police and Homeland Security Investigations.
Officials did not disclose how many files investigators allegedly recovered or what specific evidence led to the criminal charge.
Under New York law, the charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child is classified as a felony offense involving child sexual exploitation material.

“Protecting children from sexual predators using the internet to exploit them is a top priority for my Office,” Walsh said in a statement announcing the arrest.
The prosecution is being handled by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
Authorities emphasized that the criminal complaint is an accusation and Ferguson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
