WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an unarmed carjacking that took place in the Glover Park neighborhood in early February, closing a case that began with a daylight assault on a woman entering her vehicle.

Morning carjacking shakes quiet Northwest street
On the morning of February 3, officers responded to Davis Place in Glover Park after a woman was attacked while trying to enter her car. The suspect assaulted her, grabbed her keys, and fled in the vehicle. The woman sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The car was located and recovered by police the next day, but the suspect remained unidentified at the time.
Surveillance footage leads to arrest
The Carjacking Task Force launched an investigation and released surveillance images of the suspect to the public. On April 10, the Criminal Apprehension Unit located and arrested Vincent Atchison of Northwest, DC, under a warrant issued by the DC Superior Court.
Atchison has been charged with Carjacking and remains in custody pending further proceedings.
