Teens beaten and robbed inside store in broad daylight on Veirs Mill Road
Wheaton, MD — A violent daytime robbery caught on surveillance camera is under investigation after a group of young men allegedly attacked two juveniles inside a store, stealing clothing items before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored Honda Civic.
The incident occurred Thursday, August 28, just before 4 p.m. in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road. According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, four Hispanic males, believed to be between 16 and 20 years old, approached two male juveniles inside a store and demanded their clothing.
When the victims refused, the suspects physically assaulted them — punching them before taking a jacket and a pair of shoes. The suspects then ran from the store and escaped in a vehicle waiting outside.
Images released by police show the suspects walking together inside what appears to be a shopping area. One is seen wearing a dark hoodie with a prominent white logo on the front, and another is dressed in a light jacket with a hood underneath.
Detectives from the 4th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects. The robbery was caught on video and can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gQMu00wpjM.
