Baltimore man charged in daylight shooting that critically injured victim

BALTIMORE, MD — A man wanted in connection with a daylight shooting that left a 39-year-old victim critically injured on York Road has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, Baltimore Police announced.

Detectives identified the suspect as 42-year-old Dazsawn Elliot of Baltimore.

According to police, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:37 p.m. on June 5 in the 4500 block of York Road.

Responding officers found a 39-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Baltimore Police said warrant apprehension detectives arrested Elliot without incident on July 15.

He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or a possible motive.
