Upper Marlboro, MD – Lottery Player Wins Big with Repeated Numbers
A lottery player from Upper Marlboro secured a $100,000 win by playing the same numbers twice in a recent lottery drawing. After shopping at a farmers market, he purchased a $1 straight bet Pick 5 ticket at a Royal Farms store for the evening drawing and repeated the same number on a second ticket.
The numbers matched in the drawing on Monday, resulting in a combined payout of $100,000. The winner, who claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, expressed his plan to continue his betting strategy in hopes of future wins.
His winnings are set to support his passion for motorcycle racing, specifically in purchasing motorcycle parts, while also helping to settle his finances. The winning tickets were sold at the Royal Farms at 5351 Ritchie-Marlboro Road, contributing to a $1,000 bonus for the store.

Repeat Shoplifter Faces Felony Charge in Stafford
**Stafford, VA** – A woman known for previous shoplifting incidents faced a felony charge for another attempt at a Walmart on Garrisonville Road. The sheriff’s office responded to the incident on Friday at approximately 6:26 p.m.
Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen and Deputy S. Waheed were called to the Walmart for a suspected theft. The store staff reported that a female with prior offenses was involved. Deputy Waheed reviewed surveillance footage while Sergeant Jacobeen searched the vicinity.
Sergeant Jacobeen soon found a woman matching the suspect’s description. The suspect initially denied any wrongdoing and falsely identified herself as the daughter of Hank Aaron. She was later correctly identified as Janice Scott, 61, of Stafford.
Scott had been previously involved in two shoplifting incidents in October. On this occasion, she was caught with stolen meat, cheese, and crackers. She now faces three counts of shoplifting, felony second offense identity theft, providing a false identity, and unlawful name change. She is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.

Bensalem Police Arrest Repeat Offender for Child Crimes
**Bensalem, PA** – Bensalem Police have re-arrested Kevin Nguyen, 29, previously incarcerated for child pornography charges. Nguyen was initially arrested in 2021, served his time, and was released as a registered Tier 1 Sex Offender.
In June, authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip mentioned that an IMVU user allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to a 13-year-old girl. Officers traced the messages back to Nguyen’s residence in Bensalem Township.
During a search at Nguyen’s home on Cricket Lane, he admitted to sending the explicit messages on IMVU, as well as engaging with underage females on Discord. Investigators discovered Nguyen was involved in graphic exchanges with a 14-year-old female on Discord, including discussions of sexual acts and sharing explicit images.
Nguyen is charged with several felonies, including Unlawful Contact with a Minor and Sexual Abuse of Children. On Monday, Nguyen turned himself in, was arraigned, and is currently held on 10% of a $500,000 bail at Bucks County Correctional Facility.
