BALTIMORE, MD — A 43-year-old repeat violent offender was taken into custody Tuesday after allegedly committing an armed carjacking in the Northwest District while an 11-year-old girl was inside the vehicle.
Northwest District patrol officers responded to the 6200 block of Reisterstown Road around 4:27 p.m. Monday after a 48-year-old woman reported she was attacked while pumping gas. According to police, the woman was approached by an unidentified Black male who produced a knife, shoved her from her car, and got into the driver’s seat.
The woman’s 11-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the incident but was able to exit the car safely before the suspect fled the scene. A citywide alert was immediately broadcast with a description of both the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
On Tuesday, members of the Regional Auto Theft Taskforce (R.A.T.T) located the vehicle traveling north on Loch Raven Boulevard at East Northern Parkway and initiated surveillance. Support from the department’s aviation unit, Foxtrot, was requested to assist in the pursuit.
Foxtrot trailed the car to the 1700 block of East Northern Parkway, where R.A.T.T officers arrested the suspect without incident.

Suspect arrested and charged
Authorities confirmed the suspect was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with multiple offenses including assault, carjacking, motor vehicle theft, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police did not release the name of the suspect but noted he has a history of violent criminal offenses. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and the vehicle has since been recovered.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to examine evidence and conduct follow-ups.
