**Hughesville, MD** – A resident from Waldorf has won $150,000 with a Powerball quick-pick ticket, using the Power Play feature to amplify his winnings. Regularly playing lottery games such as Mega Millions and Powerball, the Charles County man has experienced previous successes with back-to-back $30 Pick 4 bets.
He bought the winning ticket at NSR Mart / Corner Xpress on Leonardtown Road in Hughesville for the Saturday drawing. Opting for quick pick numbers for two of three games, he added $1 Power Play and $1 Double Play options for increased winning opportunities.
The following day, he discovered his win upon scanning the $12 ticket at the retailer. By matching four white balls and the Powerball, he secured a $50,000 prize, which the Power Play option tripled.
Employed in logistics for 29 years and a fan of vintage cars, the winner plans to use the prize to pay off credit card debts. Notably, this marks the 54th third-tier Powerball ticket sold in Maryland this year.
Delaware State Police Pursue and Arrest Newark Resident for Drug and Traffic Offenses
**Newark, DE** – The Delaware State Police took 26-year-old Savon Roy of Newark into custody for several drug and traffic charges after a pursuit on Monday afternoon.
On Monday at approximately 1:45 p.m., a trooper identified a gray Ford Fusion with a fictitious Delaware temporary tag on East Chestnut Hill Road near Marrows Road in Newark. Upon confirming the tag’s false registration, the trooper attempted a traffic stop. The driver ignored the stop and accelerated into Brookside Plaza Shopping Center before driving over a curb, across a grassy area, and onto Marrows Road. The vehicle continued moving at high speed onto Kensington Lane before stopping on Korda Drive, where Roy fled on foot but was soon captured.
While in custody, Roy experienced a medical emergency and was taken to a hospital by EMS. During the investigation, remnants of an off-white powder were found in a ripped plastic bag concealed in Roy’s pants. Additionally, a vehicle search uncovered multiple bags containing approximately 61.5 grams of marijuana. A background check showed Roy had an outstanding arrest warrant from the New Castle County Police Department and other pending charges.

Fire Displaces Resident in Gloucester Township
**Gloucester Township, NJ** – A structure fire occurred on Sunday at approximately 3:38 PM on Edinburgh Road in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township. Assistance came from multiple fire departments, including Blackwood Fire Company, Chews Landing Fire Department, Gloucester Twp. An individual reported his motor vehicle stolen on October 14, 2023, at the Toms River Township Police Headquarters. The investigation revealed that Accoo had not returned the borrowed vehicle and had sold it to an individual in Georgia. This led to a theft charge being filed against Accoo on November 22, 2023.
A warrant was issued for Accoo’s arrest, and he was placed in the National Crime Information Center database. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 30-year-old Khayla Monet Brunner from Severna Park, Maryland, was arrested and charged in connection to the incident. The arrest was part of an ongoing effort by the police department to address drug and weapon violations in the area.
Police have released information related to the case under reference number 24-738588 as part of their regular operations in addressing these types of violations.
Wall Township Resident Charged Following High School Football Incident
**WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ** – Kelly Davis, a 53-year-old resident of Wall Township, was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following an incident at a high school football game. The charges were filed Saturday, October 19, after an altercation at the game between Howell Township and Wall Township on Friday night.
During the post-game, Davis allegedly entered the field and confronted a 17-year-old player from Howell Township. The confrontation led to a disturbance that required police and school security to intervene. Witnesses stated that Davis’s behavior was aggressive, causing concern for players, coaches, and spectators. Officers and school staff managed the situation and escorted Davis off the premises.
After the incident, police gathered witness statements to understand the event fully. Consequently, charges were filed against Davis, who is now set to appear in Wall Township Municipal Court. Patrolman John Kelly is the investigating officer in this case.
