Teen assaulted, robbed aboard F train near Queens station, NYPD says

Queens, NY – An 18-year-old man was punched repeatedly and robbed aboard a northbound F train Tuesday night as it approached a busy Queens subway station, according to the NYPD. The suspects fled on foot after taking the victim’s identification card, leaving investigators searching for three unidentified individuals.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. as the train neared the Court Square–23rd Street station within the 108th Precinct and Transit District 20. Police said the group approached the victim before launching the attack.

According to NYPD Crimestoppers, “one of the unknown individuals punched the victim multiple times in the face as another individual attempted to remove the victim’s backpack but was unsuccessful.”

Suspects flee after attempted theft

Investigators said while one attacker struck the victim, another attempted to take his backpack but failed. The group ultimately removed the victim’s identification before fleeing the station on foot to an unknown location.
