Teen arrested after multi-agency chase of stolen vehicles in South Jersey
BLACKWOOD, N.J. – A teenager is facing multiple charges after police said he stole several vehicles from Gloucester Township and led officers on a series of high-speed pursuits across Camden County early Monday morning.
The incident began around 3 a.m. on October 6 when Gloucester Township Police received an alert about a stolen vehicle in the Lincoln Avenue area of Blackwood. The New Jersey State Police soon spotted the car on Route 42 and initiated a pursuit, which was ended due to the suspect’s reckless driving.

Pursuit and arrest
The Camden County Police Department later located the same vehicle and attempted another pursuit, which was also called off for safety reasons. Using Automated License Plate Readers, Gloucester Township detectives tracked the vehicle to Camden City and alerted partner agencies.
Officers deployed stationary tire deflation devices, disabling the vehicle after a short chase. The juvenile driver was arrested without incident.
Charges and investigation
The teen was charged with theft of four motor vehicles from Gloucester Township, two counts of eluding by Camden County Police, one count of resisting by flight, and receiving stolen property by the State Police.
