Teen charged as adult in Bowie murder of 58-year-old man

October 5, 2025

BOWIE, MD – A 16-year-old from Mitchellville has been charged as an adult in connection with the killing of 58-year-old Coleman Williams of Landover, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced Friday.

The arrest follows an intensive investigation by the department’s Homicide Unit into the September 23 death of Williams, whose body was discovered shortly before 2 p.m. in a wooded area off the 10800 block of Lake Arbor Way. Officers responding to the scene found Williams unresponsive; he was pronounced dead on site.

According to police, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found multiple injuries on the victim’s body and continues to determine the precise cause of death. Detectives later identified the teenage suspect through various investigative methods and took him into custody on October 2.

Preliminary findings suggest the homicide stemmed from a dispute between the suspect and Williams, though investigators say there was no known prior relationship between them. The teen faces second-degree murder and related charges and is being held without bond by the Department of Corrections.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact homicide detectives at 301-516-2512.
