Reading, PA – An early-morning arrest outside the city followed a shooting at a neighborhood recreation center, bringing investigators a step closer to resolving a violent incident that unfolded at a popular community space.

The Reading Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting at the 3rd and Spruce Recreation Center. An arrest warrant was obtained for Roylin Cabral-Villa, 18, who faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, risking catastrophe, firearms not to be carried without a license, and recklessly endangering another person for his alleged role in the incident.

Police said members of the Reading Police Department, working in coordination with the United States Marshals Service, apprehended Cabral-Villa at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Thursday in Girardville, Schuylkill County. The arrest was made without incident.

Authorities emphasized that the filing of charges is an allegation and that the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
