Third Suspect in Bronx Daycare Tragedy Arrested After Police Find Hidden Door With More Drugs

BRONX, NY – An ongoing investigation into a recent incident at a Bronx daycare center has led to multiple arrests.

On Friday, September 15, officers responded to a distress call at 2707 Morris Avenue.

They found three children in critical condition: a 1-year-old male, a 2-year-old male, and an 8-month-old female. The 1-year-old, identified as Nicholas Dominici, later succumbed to his injuries.

On Saturday, September 16, two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. Carlisto Acevedo Brito, 41, and Grei Mendez, 36, both residing at the aforementioned address, face numerous charges, including murder and endangering the welfare of a child.

Further investigations on Wednesday, September 20, led NYPD detectives to discover a hidden floor in the daycare’s play area, containing narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Another arrest was made on Monday, with 38-year-old Renny Paredes of Bronx, NY, being taken into custody on unclassified charges. The investigation continues.
