Police search for three juveniles after Southeast DC shooting and carjacking getaway

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives are investigating a shooting in Southeast Washington after three juveniles were seen fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on September 7 in the 2300 block of Birney Place SE. According to police, three male juveniles, possibly armed, jumped out of a white sedan and got into a black 2017 Hyundai with Virginia tags TAP4552. The vehicle was last spotted in the 1500 block of Eaton Road SE.

No suspect descriptions beyond age and gender have been released, and police have not provided additional details about the victim’s condition in the shooting.

The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone who spots the suspects or the stolen Hyundai to avoid approaching and call 911 immediately with the event information.
