Police continue to seek answers months after three neglected dogs were dumped along a rural New Jersey road.

The New Jersey State Police are asking for the public’s help in an ongoing animal cruelty investigation after three neglected dogs were found abandoned in Upper Freehold Township earlier this year.

On January 23, troopers from Troop “C” Hamilton Station responded to Burlington Path Road near Emleys Hill Road, where they discovered three small dogs in visibly poor condition on the roadside. Authorities said the animals appeared malnourished and neglected.

The dogs were taken to North Star Vets for immediate medical evaluation and later transferred to Popcorn Park Animal Refuge. The refuge provided care and rehabilitation, and all three dogs have since been adopted into new homes.

While the animals are now safe, investigators are working to determine who may have abandoned them. The State Police are asking anyone who may recognize the dogs or have information about their previous owner or owners to come forward.

The incident occurred in Monmouth County and has drawn attention from animal welfare advocates and local residents. Photos of the dogs before and after their recovery have been circulated by authorities in hopes of generating leads.

Detectives from the Hamilton Station Detective Bureau are handling the case. Tips can be directed to 609-584-5000, extension 5286.
