Three shot in early tuesday morning in northeast philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Three people were shot early Tuesday morning near the 6300 block of Torresdale Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, prompting an investigation by the 15th District and local detectives.

Police said officers responded to the area around 1:40 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Two victims arrived at the 15th Police District shortly after the incident and were transported by officers to Temple University Hospital. Their vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire along the driver’s side, authorities confirmed.

A third victim, also connected to the shooting, later arrived at Jefferson-Frankford Hospital. The extent of the victims’ injuries has not yet been disclosed.

Responding officers recovered multiple fired cartridge casings at the scene and established a crime scene perimeter along the 6300 block of Torresdale Avenue.

No arrests have been made at this time.

According to police, “Victim #1, a 21-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is listed in stable condition. Victim #2, a 48-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is currently in critical but stable condition. Victim #3, a 24-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm and is in stable condition.”

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses in the area. No suspect description has been released.
