Trenton drug bust uncovers heroin crack cocaine and cash near park

Authorities seize hundreds of heroin doses during New Jersey bust

TRENTON, NJ — A narcotics investigation in Trenton led to the arrest of a city man after police said officers uncovered crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and cash during a vehicle search near a public park.

Trenton police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Terrione Horne.

According to a department press release, officers were dispatched Tuesday, May 12, to the area of 1594 Chestnut Avenue following reports of possible narcotics activity.

Police said responding officers observed a male suspect matching the description provided leaving the area in a vehicle.

Moments later, officers stopped the vehicle and began an investigation.

Authorities said a K-9 unit alerted officers to the possible presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.

Police said Horne consented to a search of the vehicle.

During the search, investigators recovered approximately 12 grams of crack cocaine, 470 doses of heroin, 45 grams of marijuana and $485 in cash, according to authorities.

Horne was taken into custody without incident and transported to Trenton Police Headquarters.

He faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering to distribute narcotics.

Police also cited numerous motor vehicle violations connected to the stop.

Authorities said Horne remains held pending an appearance in Superior Court.
