WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man wanted in connection with three separate stabbings across Southeast D.C. was arrested this week after authorities linked him to a series of violent assaults carried out over a five-week period.

Victims slashed in early morning and evening attacks
The first incident occurred at 3:59 a.m. on February 21, when a victim waiting at a bus stop near 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue SE was attacked by a suspect wielding a machete. The assailant fled, and the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
A second stabbing happened on March 23 around 8:12 a.m., when a suspect approached a victim near 19th Street and Minnesota Avenue SE and stabbed them multiple times. Three days later, on March 26 at 7:17 p.m., a verbal altercation in the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue SE escalated when a suspect pulled a knife and stabbed another victim.
In each case, the attacker fled the scene. All three victims survived their injuries.
Suspect caught, extradited, and charged
Following an investigation, detectives identified 36-year-old James Gregory, who has no fixed address, as the suspect in all three assaults. A D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant was issued, and Gregory was located in custody in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
He was extradited to Washington, D.C. on April 9 and charged with three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
