TOMS RIVER, NJ — Two Ocean County residents were indicted on multiple weapons and drug charges following an investigation that led to the seizure of firearms, including “ghost guns,” extended magazines, and methamphetamine, authorities announced.
George Garulle, 56, of Beachwood, and Dana Restaino, 39, of Whiting, face charges related to illegal firearm possession, drug possession, and conspiracy to distribute weapons, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Criminal Justice.
The investigation, led by the New Jersey State Police’s Crime Suppression South Unit and Stafford Township Police Department, resulted in court-authorized searches at multiple locations connected to the defendants. Law enforcement seized numerous firearms, including untraceable privately made guns, along with a defaced firearm that investigators say the defendants conspired to sell.
The indictment includes charges of conspiracy, possession of firearms without serial numbers, transporting manufactured firearms without serial numbers, weapons defacement, and drug-related offenses.
Garulle faces additional charges, including possession of an assault firearm, multiple shotguns, a large-capacity ammunition magazine, brass knuckles, and being a certain person not to have weapons.
Authorities said the case is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal gun trafficking and drug distribution in New Jersey.
