NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Two women from Middlesex County have been charged with voter fraud in unrelated cases, according to an announcement by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Lori Mulligan, 58, of Parlin, is accused of fraudulently voting by mail on behalf of a deceased family member. She has been charged with a third-degree crime for allegedly submitting the vote under the deceased person’s name.

In a separate case, Katherine Fokas, 57, of Monroe, faces multiple third-degree charges, including submitting a forged application for a mail-in ballot. Authorities allege that Fokas forged the application on behalf of a deceased family member and subsequently committed impersonation and forgery.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office stated that both investigations were initiated following a tip from the Middlesex County Board of Elections. Prosecutor Ciccone’s office emphasized that these investigations are ongoing.
