Wilmington Man Arrested in Dover Shooting That Struck Occupied Home on Cowgill Street

Dover, DE — A 19-year-old man has been arrested months after a late-night shooting that struck an occupied home in Dover, with multiple felony firearm charges now filed in connection to the incident, police said.

The Dover Police Department confirmed that Malik Isabell, 19, of Wilmington, was taken into custody on April 14 without incident and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $96,000 cash bond, following an investigation into the November 28, 2025 shooting.

Arrest follows months-long investigation

Detectives identified Isabell as the suspect in the shooting that occurred just before midnight in the 400 block of Cowgill Street. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office was not involved in this case; instead, Dover police led the investigation.

Authorities said the home that was struck by gunfire was occupied at the time, though no injuries were reported.

Isabell now faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering, three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, and four counts of criminal mischief.

Shooting damaged occupied residence

According to the original incident report, officers responded at approximately 11:58 p.m. on November 28 after receiving reports of gunfire in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, they made contact with the resident and determined that an unknown suspect had fired shots that hit the home.

Despite the dangerous circumstances, everyone inside the residence at the time of the shooting was unharmed.
