Man arrested after pistol-whipping attempt in Northwest DC assault

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to assault a woman with a handgun in Northwest Washington, according to police.

The incident happened March 15 in the 1100 block of Irving Street NW.

Authorities said the suspect brandished a handgun and attempted to strike the female victim with it during the assault.

The victim was able to escape and flag down officers nearby.

Police quickly located the suspect and took him into custody.

Ariel Isidro Fuentes Euceda, 28, of Northwest, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, specifically pistol-whipping.
