$1.5K? Try $50K! Youngstown player stunned by real prize

Youngstown man wins $50K on a hunch with KENO ticket and Booster bet

A spur-of-the-moment decision paid off for one Youngstown man who changed his usual KENO routine and won $50,004 after opting for an 8-spot ticket with the Booster.

The winning ticket was purchased by Jeff at East Side Civics & Athletic Club, located at 968 E Midlothian Blvd in Youngstown. After standard state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, Jeff will take home $36,002.88.

Typically a 4-spot player, Jeff decided to increase his odds and add the Booster to his ticket, which significantly multiplied his prize. He originally believed the win was around $1,500, only to learn the true amount when he went to cash in the ticket.

Jeff shared that he plans to use the unexpected windfall to pay some bills and prep his race cars for the upcoming season.

KENO is a fast-paced draw game that allows players to win every few minutes by selecting numbers from 1 to 80, with various wager and prize multiplier options like the Booster.

Ohio Lottery continues to drive education support through player wins

The win in Youngstown is one of many recent large payouts by the Ohio Lottery, which contributes its proceeds toward public education in the state. Since its inception in 1974, the Lottery has directed more than $33 billion to support schools.

Draw results are available on monitors at participating retailers and through the Ohio Lottery app, where players can also view ticket histories and claim smaller prizes.

Jeff’s lucky ticket is a reminder of the occasional high payout possible in everyday games like KENO, particularly when optional features like the Booster are added.

All players are encouraged to play responsibly and review game odds and prize structures on the Ohio Lottery website.
